The Italian House Pelliccerie Mele was founded by Enrico Mele together with his son Giuseppe in 1880 in Naples, which remains its headquarters to this day. Historically, it is counted among the oldest and most prestigious in the industry in Italy, always defined by a distinctive, original style—entirely crafted by its skilled workers.

The only Italian company in the sector of its time to be invited to participate in the Paris International Exhibition of 1907.

For his outstanding entrepreneurial qualities, Enrico Mele was awarded, in 1917, the honour of Grand Knight of the Order of the Crown of Italy.

The company's first form of advertising: a fur coat made to measure for the celebrated full-figured performer known as the “donna cannone”, who toured Europe carrying the Pellicceria Mele name with her. An idea ahead of its time, long before fashion made room for curvier figures.

Mele is a universally respected brand and a point of reference for clients in Italy and around the world.

Led by Giuseppe Mele, the company is entered in the national Roll of Honour for commerce and tourism, in recognition of its contribution to the country's economic development.

Enrico, together with his brothers Davide and Diego, still leads a company that has successfully reached the fifth generation. MELE creations are distributed and sold in the most exclusive boutiques across Europe and the world.

The company further strengthens its prestige with notable certifications—including inclusion among “Historic excellences with over a hundred years of activity in Campania”—and takes part in leading international trade fairs in the field, such as MIFUR.

Pellicceria Mele opens its summer boutique on the island of Ischia, bringing its collections to one of the most elegant destinations in the Gulf of Naples.
